Absurdity

Miriam-Webster has declared a word of the year. No, you will NEVER guess.

"w00t"

Yes, those are two zeros.

I didn't know that "words" containing numbers could either be pronounced, or considered words at all.

Utter ridiculousness.

English is the most versatile language in the world. Any word from any other language can be adopted readily and add to the lexicon.

Apparently this also means any random combination of alphanumeric characters can also be adopted as words provided they resemble some variation of proper phonemes.....

Now you just have to ask if this evolution of the English language is for better or worse....

Soon they'll be adding "boobless" as created by nerds with calculators using 8's 0's and 3's.

Word of the year! "80087332"!

Meaning, the actual word of the year is "stupidity".
